Nick came to visit, and we went out for drinks and good food as usual. We were looking for brunch somewhere outside, and neither of us had ever been to Bridget Foy’s even though we’ve both lived within a few blocks of the place.
We missed brunch, but after checking out the brunch menu anyway, I definitely want to come back again for it. Pear-stuffed French Toast, and Crab Breakfast Burritos? Yes, please.
Instead, we ordered lunch off their all-day menu.
My grilled cheese and tomato soup would probably be perfect for brunch with a hangover. Packed with a three-cheese blend and served slightly burnt, which I know a lot of people like, it’s a slightly healthier option than the cheesesteak and cheese fries your poor body is crying for after a good night out. However, as I was hangover-less, it was bland at best.
Nick’s talapia was cooked to perfection, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone who likes fish. It made me completely jealous that I had not picked one of the other options like Pistachio Goat Cheese Salad, or the Turkey Burger. I always go for the quirky stuff expecting restaurants to wow me with something different, or put unique twists on traditional food. I was disappointed, but that was my own fault for picking the least interesting item on the menu.
The out door seating wasn’t disappointing in the least, however. Our favorite season is fall, and the weather was beautiful. Plus, it’s South Street; people watching never gets old. With a few more glassed of my Strawberry Blonde Sangria, and his Sam Adams Ocktoberfest, we could have sat there all day.
